Evelina Zip charity event!

The London Fire Brigade rigged up the first ever zip wire across the Thames raising an amazing £1 MILLION for a new clinical research centre at Evelina Children’s Hospital. We were proud to be a part of this great charitable event held at Londons St Thomas Hospital.
The Evelina Zip used 500 metres of specially manufactured Dyneema synthetic fibre rope, D2 Racing 78 is high strength and lightweight with good abrasion resistance and is capable of handling a load of 12 tons (around the weight of six cars).
Jon Mitchell, Managing Director of Marlow Ropes added “We’re delighted to support Evelina Zip by supplying possibly its most critical component – the zip line! (not wire!)! Although this was a daring feat, our high strength rope was more than up to the task and ensured that all the brave zippers made it safely to the other side.”
