Making Every Fibre Count: Marlow Supports Local Communities with Rope Donations

Marlow Ropes is proud to support local communities in Hailsham and the surrounding area. This year we have been able to support several local businesses through the donation of ropes for various projects around the local area:
Marlow’s Managing Director Jon Mitchell continues: “We are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work and are pleased to support these local businesses. Hailsham has a long history of rope-making dating back to the 1800s – we are proud of our local roots and that we can support our local charities and places of interest in our own unique way.
Michelham Priory is a historic house and garden located in Hailsham. The Priory is home to a variety of events throughout the year. We were able to donate ropes to be used as barriers and fencing for event car parking and in the event of flooding.
Hailsham Cricket Club is a local cricket club that competes in the Sussex Premier Cricket League. Marlow Ropes has provided ropes in Hailsham and Hellingly for groundskeeping and boundary maintenance.
Rob Wilkinson, Director of Cricket said; “The club would like to thank Marlow Ropes for their donation of a new boundary rope for Roebuck Park. Their ongoing support and generosity are amazing and a partnership that we are delighted to have with a respected local company.”
Hellingly Rugby Club is a local rugby club that competes in the Sussex RFU League, which Marlow also sponsored with ropes for groundskeeping and boundary maintenance.
Knockhatch Adventure Park is a popular family attraction located in Hailsham. The Park is home to a variety of animals, rides, and attractions. Marlow has provided ropes of various diameters for their new lemur enclosure as well as for car park boundary use.
Colin Jaggers, Managing Director of Knockhatch Adventure Park said; “We are very grateful for the continuing support of Marlow Ropes. They are a wonderful example of an international business that regularly supports tourism in Hailsham.”
Local Scout and Sea Cadet Groups are supported throughout the year through the donation of ropes used for knot-tying and splicing practice, camping sailing and other activities.
Eastbourne Bonfire Society holds a large annual bonfire and fireworks event which attracts over 100,000 visitors each year. Marlow Ropes has provided rope for the society to use to pull the tableau through the streets.
We hope that our sponsorship will help them continue to provide valuable services and experiences to the community.
