Marlow announces New Talent Sailor Sponsorships in key British Squads
Marlow’s commitment to supporting grass roots sailing and young sailors continues in 2019 with two new sponsorship announcements that focus on specific youth fleets, supporting New Talent in the 29er and Topper fleets.
James Crossley is a Topper sailor who currently holds the Topper 4.2 National trophy. So far this year he has gained great success at the ITCA NS2 in Weymouth, gaining third at the Island Barn Barnstormer before achieving ‘first Topper’ at the Bloody Mary in January. Most recently he won the Southern Traveller and achieved second place at the South-East Traveller.
A key part of James’ sponsorship role will be testing Marlow’s Excel R8 and Racing GP78 products as control lines, and D12 Max 78 as a traveller and we look forward to working with him closely over the forthcoming sailing season.
Emily Mueller and Florence Brellisford are a 29er team tipped for great success since qualifying for the British Sailing Development team in 2017. Both graduated from the Optimist class last year at the very top of the leaderboards. Emily was named overall British Champion and went on to win Sailor of the Year at the British Yachting Awards 2018.
“We are delighted to be part of the Marlow team for the upcoming year and would like to thank Marlow for their support and guidance. We are looking forward to a great year ahead in the 29er class, learning about and using the best ropes!” (Emily Mueller)
With continued work as British Supplier to the British Sailing Team and the British Youth Sailing Development squads ahead of Tokyo 2020, Marlow are delighted to support and work with talented individuals across each of these fleets. In doing so, Marlow gain invaluable technical insight into how the hi-spec lines perform, helping to push the sailors ever closer to their podium dreams.
