At Marlow Ropes we are always looking to the future with innovation and development, however we never forget our rich and proud heritage and whilst the name Marlow Ropes was originally used as recently as 1957, the story of the Company and the intertwined history of rope making in Hailsham goes back over 200 years when Thomas Burfield founded his rope company in Hailsham.

Marlow Ropes are proud to be working in our local community to help with the Burfield Academy in Hailsham. The school is in the process of education the children on the history of Thomas Burfield and Marlow Ropes. We have donated some historical pieces from the history of Marlow Ropes as well as some reels of rope to assist with the children learning and recreation.
