MARLOW PRODUCE MOORING LINES FOR RRS SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH (BOATY MCBOATFACE)
This week one of our many splicing projects has been finishing the 44mm diameter Mooring Lines for RRS Sir David Attenborough, formerly known as ‘Boaty McBoatface’ . The research vessel owned by the Natural Environment Research Council is operated by the British Antarctic Survey for research and logistic support.
The 190m of Superline HS is a 100% Polyester high strength, low elongation “jacketed” rope that is a lightweight alternative to steel wire.
