Marlow’s R&D team are pleased to unveil the new mottled D2 Racing across the Cruiser Racer Series, and the Excel Racing in the Dinghy Series. Since the D2 Racing’s conception 12 years ago and the Excel Racing’s conception 20 years ago, both product series have gained increasing global popularity across the sailing and rigging industry and have rigged many leading international teams and races; including the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and UK, US and French Olympic sailing teams amongst others.

Over the last year we have seen more and more interest in mottled covers, and we decided that our best-selling product would benefit from this update with a look to match their outstanding performance.”

The new-look D2 Racing is a high strength, light weight, all round performer.  Known for its Dyneema D12 78 core, sailors can upgrade polyester halyards by choosing a smaller diameter to achieve weight savings and handling improvements. The new brightly coloured mottled Polyester covers offer the same benefits as before in diameters of 8mm – 18mm with smooth running and excellent grip in winches – easily identifiable in colour choices of orange and grey, lime and grey, black and grey, green and grey, blue and grey and red and grey.

With similar attributes to the D2 Racing, the Excel Racing offers high strength,  and is lightweight with a Dyneema SK78 core for all round use on halyards, sheets and control lines. The new brightly coloured mottled Polyester covers offer the same attributes as before and are available in 1.5mm – 6mm in red and grey, blue and grey, black and grey, orange and grey, lime and grey and silver and grey.
