Despite heavy snow that gripped the UK last week, the show went on and Marlow were thrilled to meet so many dinghy enthusiasts at the RYA Dinghy Show in Alexandra Palace on the 3^rd & 4^th March.  This year marked the 15^th that Marlow have been exhibiting at the World’s only dedicated Dinghy Show.

The Marlow stand was equipped with Virtual Reality headsets giving visitors a chance to experience life on-board a Clipper yacht and an opportunity to sail fast with the British Sailing Team.  We also had a great number of entries for the Big Dinghy Draw competition and one lucky entrant will find out this week if they won the bundle of goodies which included a British Sailing Team official jacket.

Visitors enjoyed meeting members from the British Sailing Team, many who are rigged by Marlow, including Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell the 49er World champions and Finn’s Ben Cornish and Hector Simpson amongst others.  Splicing demonstrations also took place with workshops led by Marlow’s David Mossman, along with professional rigger Max from Southeast Sailboats who demonstrated eye-watering skill and craftsmanship.

The highlight of the show was taking part in the new Sailors’ Corner where Marlow’s rope expert David Mossman greeted crowds. Accompanied by sailors from the British Sailing Team they busted rope myths, offered advice and hands-on demo’s in splicing, ropecare and rope management.
