Marlow is proud to support The Offshore Academy as official supplier and helps make sure The Academy’s boats have the latest products for sail handling and controls. We are giving our Facebook followers the chance to win a Short Handed Sailing Session with Academy skipper Hugh Brayshaw.

To win the prize:

1. Visit the Marlow Ropes Facebook page and watch the Offshore Academy short film to guess the length of the jib halyard that Hugh Brayshaw uses on his Figaro.

2. Provide the correct answer in the Facebook comments box underneath the competition post.

3. You will need to be following the @MarlowRopes Facebook page and have shared the competition with your Facebook followers.



This fantastic prize is for anybody aged 18 and over and will give you the opportunity of a shorthanded sailing experience with current Offshore Academy skipper Hugh Brayshaw onboard his boat ‘The Offshore Academy’ Beneteau Figaro II.

The sailing experience is for one person (accompanied by Marlow's Leisure Marine Sales Director Paul Honess) and will take place at Cowes on the isle of Wight, UK on Tuesday 24th July.  

The session will start at 10am and you will be provided with waterproof and safety gear (to be returned). r

You will receive a briefing on the dock before heading out into the solent to carry out some drills; shorthanded tacking, gybing, hoists, drops and autopilot work. The sailing session will last around 4hrs, you will arrive back at Cowes around 2pm in time for some lunch ashore.

Please note: The winner doesn't need any prior sailing experience, (although some is preferred) and they must be physically able to go sailing. The winner will be required to sign a disclaimer.
